If you are not a large volume customer, don't bother. Oak Harbor does not care about small business, they are unreliable to show up for pick-ups, their customer service is rude, their communication is non-existent. Oak Harbor is so terrible we've finally had to tell customers we cannot ship with that freight company. 41 years in business and this is the only freight company that can't figure out how to pick up a package.

They went past 2 day delivery date. They claimed an appointment was needed for a 24 hour facility. We asked to deliver without the appt. They said they would and have not. You cant trust them

I am not going to get my tax information at all Emma no tax information no tax information until I come in is that right they say that they mailed midday meaning harbor freight Stockton said they mailed my tax information well its been passed the 31st they did not and it seems like its almost impossible to get on the line without desktop

Had a delivery Wednesday 11/24/21 for griddle for restaurant. Pro # 8426****. Have been on hold numerous times for 20-30 min and then I get disconnected to reach claims. I do have picture of the damage to the shipping box and the grill. Would like a call back since Ive tried x4-5 times just today 11/26/21.

Driver out of control

Just finished a drive from the oregon coast when one of your OAK HARBOR TRUCKS almost ran me off the road as he was crossing a double line on an uphill mountain road with no regards for any other drivers. He never stayed in the slow lane as is normal for a large truck but decided he had to pass everything in sight ! HIS PLATE NUMBER IS OREGON HV32726--DOOR NUMBER IS 271C6. If you don't do something about this clown I will report him to OREGON STATE POLICE AND OTHERS. I don't know if you are a good contact for my complaint so hopefully you can route me and my complaint to the appropriate people !

Grainger needs to stop using them

They suck. They damage freight over and over. They also "lose" shipments time and time again. Afraid to purchase from companies that use Oak Harbor. They are rude about it when you contact them. They don't care. Zero customer service. They are routinely late and if they deliver it is long after the expected time frame. Not sure what else can be said about them. Its a shame that they are allowed to continue to operate in this manner. Do They Keep Their Word...I Think Not!

I have been waiting for almost a week to get a delivery picked up! On Thursday I was told we will be there tomorrow (Friday). Come Friday, no pick up. No pick up on Saturday either. I gave them grace on Sunday, but Monday I called and was told that they would pick up today! Not so. It's Tuesday and I called again. Was told that they would get back to me..still waiting for a call. Meanwhile, I have 3 large boxes sitting in the lobby of my hotel awaiting pickup. If you are a company, never to business with Oak Harbor. Service is poor, they do not do what they say they will do, and for the price it is not worth the hassle.

Never Use Oak Harbor Freight

Oak Harbor Freight is great... until there is a problem or freight damage claim then forget it! I'm out $2,800 for a damaged shipment that happened in July... and I replaced...it's now the end of December. They asked that I give them a "cost breakdown" excluding crating and profit which I did... three months ago. Now they and their freight bandit interline carrier, Diamond Delivery (Vancouver, Canada) just told me that they would only be paying one quarter of the claim or $325.00 which is less than I paid for the total freight charges exclusive of what it cost for the second (replacement) shipment. In addition I was told by Oak Harbor that they "hoped" to have a check to me in the next two months. For many years I had recommended and used Oak Harbor Freight and now I advise people to stay away from them at any cost! Their little slogan... "Bringing Peace of Mind Since 1916" is a pathetic joke!

Oak Harbor in Fre-Sma and bakersfield have the worst operations manager. David Wager harrases and intimidates his employees. It is a hostle work enviroment. I believe the Union has to represent those terminals as 75% of employees are looking to vote union due to Mis-treatment of David Wager. Is sad to hear corporate does not do anything about it.

Repeated Delivery issues

Focusing on the more recent occurrence, Oak Harbor in Auburn was instructed to contact me to arrange the deliver time - the first and only thing they did correctly. They had been informed a lift gate would be required as it had been on EVERY delivery to my location. The call on Wednesday confirmed a time of 10-1, blows *** in my day but it is what it is. At 11 am Thursday i get a call saying they aren't going to be able to deliver today and would have to come out Friday. I explain how this is a big pain to have to arrange my time for another day waiting and ask if there is an earlier time in the morning we could set (like pre 10am). I was asked to hold, and then told they could get it at 7 am on Tuesday. I said that I need it Monday so that's not going to work and to just bring it Friday then. for some reason she had to check if that would work - I found this odd because at the very beginning she said it wouldn't be today but tomorrow (Friday). If that was the original plan why was she checking?? Well she comes back and says no - they cant bring it now until Tuesday at all. Apparently my shipment of 22000 lbs isnt as important as smaller ones. When i asked to have the shipment split into two trucks to get it here ASAP I was given a flat "no". I was especially annoyed having spent 15 minutes on hold forced to listed to a pre-recorded message play over and over talking about how important it is to stick to appointments and delivery times - an Oak Harbor priority - all the while being jerked around getting my delivery appointments moved all over the place. After mentioning this is a pattern Oak Harbor has shown in the past and that I really felt it was in their best interest to get this figured out and delivered on time as promised I was told it wasn't happening. She was very wrong. Two hours later I received notice that it was showing up TODAY. I am really hoping that the people who were involved in this (Melanie and Chris) read this along with their bosses. This is a pattern at that company. It is a pattern which has lost them a significant amount of business today, because after the delivery is made Oak Harbor will be removed from the preferred shipper list from a major distributor. The unwillingness of their staff/management at whatever level made the decision to not stick to promised delivery appointments or to make any effort to correct a mistake when it was so easy to do so has cost Oak Harbor money. And I believe it will continue to do so as long as those two are involved or that this way of dealing with customers continues. Good Bye Oak Harbor Freight - You suck.

Late delivery - screwed up my day

I received no tracking information, no email, just a phone call - we're coming tomorrow, what time works for you? So I said 8 am to 12 noon. He promised that, cheerfully, no problem. I cancelled a 10 am appt I had, and I sat here, waiting. Finally at 1 pm I did an online search to find a phone number. I called, but then got criticized because I had no tracking information. Well, I wasn't given any! I provided my address and they located my delivery. As of 1 pm the driver still has two more stops. It's Friday afternoon. I want to go home and start this project. I cancelled my only revenue earning appointment. And I get some useless apology from the customer service rep. It will come hopefully within the hour. These people give no concern for your time.

Oak Harbor Freight Lines Are No Good!!!

Oak Harbor Freigth Lines damaged my shipment then told me it could be 30-120 days before they even make a decision whether or not to pay! They then tried to charge me $200-$300 more because the driver altered the bill of lading (against their own company policies!), and made the shipment of 2 crates into 2 shipments of 1 crate! Then, after the receiver refused the shipment due to damage, their partner freight lines tried to tell me that the receiver refused it not due to damage, but because of poor welding, however, the receiver provided me with a written statement that this was NOT true! Then Dayton freight, their partner line that has the shipment, is telling me that they are charging me a daily fee for "storage" of the damaged shipment, that they will auction it off in 30 days to the public, and that it will cost me over $2000 to have the shipment returned to me. Meanwhile I am in NC and the damaged shipment is in Ohio, and the claim still isn't resolved. Do not use Dayton Freight Lines or Oak Harbor Freight Lines
